Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about our premium Japanese matcha and loose leaf teas.

Where is your tea sourced from?

All Mizuba tea is sourced directly from heritage tea farms in Uji, Japan. We work closely with our producers to ensure the highest quality, pesticide-free, and traditionally processed matcha and sencha.

How should I store my matcha to keep it fresh?

To maintain optimal flavor and vibrant color, we recommend storing your matcha in its airtight tin in a cool, dark place. For long-term storage, the refrigerator is ideal, but ensure the tin reaches room temperature before opening to prevent condensation.

What is the difference between Ceremonial and Culinary grade matcha?

Our Ceremonial grades are intended for whisking with water to appreciate their delicate, sweet flavor profiles. Our Culinary grade is bolder and more astringent, specifically designed to stand up to the fats and sugars in lattes, smoothies, and baking.

How long does shipping take?

Orders are typically processed within 1-2 business days. Domestic shipping within the United States usually takes 3-5 business days via USPS or UPS, while international shipping times vary by destination.

Do you offer returns or exchanges?

Due to the perishable nature of our products, we cannot accept returns on opened tea. However, if there is an issue with your order or if a product arrived damaged, please contact us within 14 days of receipt for a replacement or store credit.

Is Mizuba Tea Co. organic?

Many of our teas are grown using organic practices, and all are tested for purity and radiation. We prioritize small family farms that focus on traditional, sustainable cultivation methods that respect the local ecosystem of Uji.
